2026 QB Peyton Falzone commits to Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech launched its class of 2026 today after QB Peyton Falzone of Nazareth, PA, joined the Hokies.

Falzone chose the Hokies despite offers from Penn State, Syracuse and others, with his three Power 4 offers all arriving this month. He is the sixth newcomer since the start of Sunday for the Hokies, with all the others being part of the 2025 class: three-star QB AJ Brand, three-star LB Noah Chambers, three-star DE Zeke Chinwike, three-star OL Nathaniel Wright and three-star RB Jeff Overton Jr.

In his sophomore year, Falzone put up impressive numbers for Nazareth HS, passing for 2,527 yards, 19 touchdowns, and just four interceptions for a 61.2% completion rate and running for 447 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 6.7 yards per carry.

The Hokies were the first Power 4 offer for Falzone, with Penn State and Syracuse joining the 6-foot-5 quarterback’s recruitment shortly after. Falzone visited Virginia Tech last weekend, which must have gone pretty well to get to the point where he decided to become Tech’s first recruit for the 2026 class.

Falzone fits the dual-threat scheme the Hokies want in a quarterback, even if his stats as a sophomore are more geared toward passing. He showed off his athletic ability this spring when he ran the 100 yards in 11.05 seconds, a good time for a sophomore that shows he’s fast enough to be a threat in the run game.

It is currently unknown if the Hokies plan to add two quarterbacks in the next class, but given the transfer portal era we are in, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they did to ensure they have consistent depth of scholarship QBs. If they do, three-star QB Jayvon Gilmore of South Carolina and three-star QB Jackson Presley of Montana are names to keep an eye on, with Gilmore including VT in his top five and Presley including VT in his top six.

We will learn more as the story progresses.
