I was so excited when Florida State was able to sign former five-star wide receiver prospect Hykeem Williams out of Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the 2023 recruiting cycle. His combination of speed, size, and strength was something the Seminoles haven’t seen in a recruit at the wide receiver position in a while.

Florida State had the luxury of having big playmakers like Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson last season, so the Seminoles didn’t need Hykeem Williams’ help in 2023.

As expected, it took Williams a while to adjust to the college game. During his first offseason, people talked about him being out of shape and not consistent enough. However, he persisted and got to work. He finished the 2023 season with five pass catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.

With Coleman and Wilson moving on to the NFL, Williams will be expected to carry the load of the wide receiver position, but he will have to keep his play consistent.
