Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess give update on wedding planning and son Zane (exclusive)

Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess are in no hurry to plan their wedding as they are already busy with their lives with a toddler.

During a conversation with ET’s Nischelle Turner on Monday from the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, the 55-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 Actor and the 39-year-old Dancing with the stars The couple said that almost a year has passed since they announced their engagement, but that a wedding is not planned in the near future.

“We’re not really planning much right now,” Green told ET, explaining how their busy lives are getting in the way of their wedding plans. “We’re raising kids, we’re – you know – in a new house.”

“We’re alive – I’ve got the ring on so I’m happy,” Burgess added. “Life with a toddler is pretty intense and the next two years are so packed and hectic for us that it’s tough. So we’re probably looking at that.”

Green and Burgess have a son together, Zane, who turns two at the end of June. Green is father to sons Noah (10), Bodhi (9) and Journey (7), whom he has with ex-wife Megan Fox. Green also has a 21-year-old son, Kassius, from his relationship with Vanessa Marcil.

For Burgess, who is originally from Down Under, her top priority is ensuring her children and families are part of the big day. She tells ET that they are already working on how to include the kids and their loved ones in the celebration, although pretty much everything else is still up for grabs.

“Absolutely, that’s a must for me – 100 percent,” Burgess said. “My friends and family from Australia, I want to bring them wherever we decide to do it. And also Zane, who’s walking down the aisle. I want him to hold the ring – he’s not old enough to trust him with that yet.”

In September, ET spoke to the couple at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, just days after they made their engagement public, and they said all of their blended family’s children were “super excited” about the engagement and were there when Green got down on one knee.

“They were part of the proposal,” Burgess, who has been dating the actor since 2020, said at the time. “It was really beautiful.”

As for other non-negotiables when they finally decide to get married—whenever and wherever that may be—there is one more slightly silly but important thing that Burgess is burdening herself with—literally and figuratively.

“A seafood tower, right?” Green asked his fiancée and she replied, “A seafood tower for me and my mom, definitely.”

The fact that wedding planning isn’t easy – not to mention the fact that the couple’s soon-to-be two-year-old child creates even more chaos – is partly because Burgess says she’s witnessed too many incredible weddings to narrow down her own preferences.

“I saw Maks (Chmerkovskiy) and Peta’s (Murgatroyd) wedding – a huge princess wedding in a castle – I love that. Derek (Hough) and Hayley (Erbert) got married in the Redwoods, that was incredible,” she said. “I’m spoilt for choice and after seeing what my friends have done, I don’t know what I want now.”

Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd married in July 2017 at Oheka Castle on Long Island. The couple hosted a lavish celebration with dozens of their closest friends and family members. Hough and Erbert married just last year in Monterey County, California, after seven years together.

The couple again told ET that they still have plenty of time to work out the details, especially as Zane enters the “terrible phase,” which they say began on the flight to the Bahamas. Burgess joked that they’re taking the good with the bad when it comes to their wayward son.

“He goes down the water slides and does all this stuff and it’s so incredible to see,” Burgess said, before adding, “I don’t know if this is necessarily cute, but anything I put on, he’s like, ‘Mommy, no, no.’ He wants me to take it off – the dress, the hat.”

She added: “I had braided my hair for our slide (and he said), ‘Mommy, no, I don’t like it.’ He’s very bossy.”

Who knows, maybe little Zane will become a budding personal stylist!
