Dora JarBehind the scenes tour, September 22

Every now and then a live show jumps out of the calendar as an absolute must-see event, and we have that here as Dora Jar plays Allston’s Brighton Music Hall on September 22. The New York-born, Los Angeles-raised folk-pop existentialist is poised to become the next big star, and a quick glance at the new, cinematic single “Timelapse” quickly shows why. Dora’s debut album, “Dark-Pop Psychedelic Fantasia” No way to relax when you are burning is out just nine days before the tour kicks off here in Boston, so the excitement should be palpable when she takes the stage on Brighton Avenue – even if everyone is having trouble characterizing the record. “Maybe it’s the troublemaker in me, given that everyone is self-identifying and identifying with others,” Dora says of the album. “But I have a habit of not sticking to one thing.” Don’t sleep on it. Tickets go on sale Friday (July 12) at 10 a.m. local time.
