Inside the Halloween wedding of “The Order” co-stars Jocelyn Hudon and Jake Manley (exclusive)

The wedding of Jocelyn Hudon and Jake Manley took place on Halloween, but it was not a horror story.

The actors, who both starred in the Netflix series, The orderrecently announced that they eloped in Las Vegas on October 31, 2021, one year after their Gilmore Girls-inspired commitment.

“Vegas was always in the back of my mind — when I was in college, I met a girl who told me it was her dream to do a wedding in Vegas, and that always stuck with me,” Hudon told ET. “I was in the middle of shooting three movies in a row, and we realized that Halloween — my absolute favorite day — fell on a Sunday, so I was able to work it into my shooting schedule… and it all took off from there.”

Hudon called the planning “extremely relaxed and low-maintenance,” estimating that their wedding only took them one day of planning time to book the Little White Wedding Chapel and text their guests. Hudon noted, “Actually, a surprising number of people flew in at the last minute, which was so great.”

And it wouldn’t be a Halloween wedding in Las Vegas without a zombie Elvis Presley performing the ceremony. “I tried to mentally prepare my mom for a weird wedding. I told her this wasn’t going to be a perfect, traditional wedding – we were getting married next to a Cadillac, in a tunnel, and Elvis was dressed as a zombie,” she said. “But luckily, the zombie Elvis exceeded my expectations, and my dad walked me down the aisle, which was great.”

After the ceremony, the couple celebrated with their loved ones at The Velveteen Rabbit, a vintage Las Vegas venue, with five cakes from Milk Bar. “The large ones were sold out and you couldn’t order them in advance, so we had to bet the same day that they had a few mini cakes in stock,” Hudon said of the cakes. “My friends drove to Milk Bar, picked up the cakes, and carried them around with us all day. It was hilarious.”

As for the bride’s unconventional look on her wedding day, the actress found her black dress with a sheer skirt online. “I bought it on Etsy from a woman who sews dresses in Ukraine,” she said. “I really didn’t know what I was going to get in the mail or if it would arrive on time. I loved the fit — thankfully there were no alterations — and I loved that it wasn’t a designer dress. It’s one-of-a-kind and by an artist. Actually, it’s not even technically a wedding dress.”

Now, several months after their wedding, the newlyweds described their special day as “perfect.”

“It was easy to maintain for us and our guests and definitely unique,” said the When hope calls said the actress. “I just wish I was Thunder from Australia more than once. Just kidding.”
