The Iowa State women’s basketball team announced two new assistant coaches to join head coach Bill Fennelly’s staff on Wednesday.

The two new additions – Rob Jenkins and Emily Hatfield – are internal promotions. Both have worked with the team and the athletic department for several years, but this is their first coaching role.

Jenkins, a North Carolina native and University of Wisconsin graduate, arrived in Ames in the summer of 2023 after spending one season as a graduate assistant at North Carolina, according to his profile on the ISU website.

His focus will be on player development.

Hatfield played basketball at Western Carolina and graduated with a degree in health and physical education in 2018. She then received a degree in sports management from Tennessee Tech in 2020.

She joined Iowa State in 2022 after serving as director of basketball operations at Texas Tech for three seasons. She previously served as the Cyclones’ video and recruiting operations coordinator from 2022-2024.

According to her profile, her focus will be on video scouting as well as graphic design and creative materials for the program’s recruitment activities.
