NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) — Independence Day celebrations take place throughout North Carolina and the Triangle.

Here is a list of events and ways to celebrate the 4th of July near you.

RALEIGH

For the third year in a row, the City of Raleigh and ABC11 partner to present the Raleigh 4th of July Fireworks!

Gates open at 6pm and fireworks start at 9:30pm. The event features a food truck lot with over 40 trucks.

There will be no parking on the Dix Park Campus on July 4. Free parking during the event will be available in the downtown parking garages and on the NC State Centennial Campus.

Free shuttles will pick up attendees at Moore Square Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. and drop them off at Centennial Parkway/Blair Drive, a 300-meter (5-minute) walk from the event.

But don’t worry if you can’t make it to the park in person, ABC11 will broadcast the entire show live starting at 9 p.m.

DURHAM

Durham Parks and Recreation and the Durham Bulls celebrate with a post-game fireworks display on Thursday, July 4.

The Durham Bulls game against the Norfolk Tides begins at 6:35 p.m. at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. There will be a post-game fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, the City of Fayetteville and Fayetteville PWC host the Independence Concert & Fireworks, a free event on Thursday, July 4th, held at Festival Park in Fayetteville.

The event features the Fayetteville Symphonic Band, Fayetteville’s only concert band, and the Band of the 82nd Airborne Division.

The gates open at 6 p.m. The concerts are expected to begin at 7.15 p.m. and there will be a fireworks display after the performances.

FORT LIBERTY

The 2024 Fourth at the Fort celebration will feature live music with Flo Rida, Plain White T’s, and Maddie and Tae. The event is free and open to the public.

The parade field opens at 3pm, the 82nd Rock Band kicks off at 4:30pm. Maddie and Tae take the stage at 6pm, Plain White T’s perform at 7:10pm. Flo Rida performs at 8:30pm. The fireworks start at 9:45pm.

There will also be a parachute freefall demonstration by the Golden Knights, a flag ceremony, food, drinks and lights in the sky from fireworks.

CARRY

The Town of Cary will host its Fourth of July celebration at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. The Cary Town Band will perform at 4:30 p.m. and the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

The event also includes fun activities for kids, food, and a live skydiving demonstration by the NC Veterans Corps at Symphony Lake.

The fireworks will take place immediately after the concert at 9:25 p.m.

CHAPEL HILL

You can view the fireworks from Southern Community Park. The parking lot for the event opens at 7 p.m. The fireworks are expected to begin at 9 p.m.

People are asked to bring blankets and chairs.

FUQUAY-VARINA

The Independence Day celebration on Monday, July 1st features live music, food trucks and fireworks.

The gates to South Park open at 6:00 p.m. and the fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.

HOLLY SPRINGS

The Holly Springs Independence Day celebration will be held on Friday, July 5, at Sugg Farm in Bass Lake Park.

There will be live music, food trucks, games and more.

The celebration begins at 6 p.m. The fireworks start at around 9:15 p.m.

GARNER

The Garner Independence Celebration includes food vendors, tours, music and, of course, fireworks.

Gates at Lake Benson Park open at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. On-site parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

ROLESVILLE

The City of Rolesville fireworks display will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Redford Place Park. The fireworks display is expected to begin at 9:15 p.m.

SELMA

The Selma All-American Festival will take place on Monday, July 1st, starting at 6 p.m. at Blackstone/Ormond’s Plaza.

The event features food trucks, games and live entertainment.

FOREST GROWING

The spectacular fireworks display will take place on Wednesday, July 3. The event is free and open to the public and will take place at Heritage High School, 1150 Forestville Road.

The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the fireworks start around 9:30 p.m.

WILSON

Gates at the Wilson County Fairgrounds open at 5 p.m. for the Fourth of July fireworks display, which begins at 9 p.m.
