Man arrested in connection with May shooting and attempted robbery near downtown

INDIANAPOLIS – A 22-year-old man was arrested earlier this week following a shooting and attempted robbery near downtown Indianapolis in May, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, Nathanial Price was arrested Monday after the Marion County District Attorney’s Office filed charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon by a felon.

In the early morning hours of May 28, officers from IMPD’s Downtown District responded to a shooting in the 900 block of North Senate Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds who was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

During the investigation into the shooting, officers learned that the shooting reportedly occurred near 600 Canal Walk following an attempted robbery. After interviewing people at the scene and reviewing surveillance camera footage, police identified Price as the alleged suspect in the incident.

The post said Price was already in custody at the time the new charges were filed and was serving a sentence for violating probation.
