Most City of Glendale services will be available starting July 4

City of Glendale

City of Glendale offices will be closed on July 4. However, many city facilities and services will be open on Independence Day for the convenience and recreation of residents.

City offices will be closed on July 4, but will reopen on July 5 and as usual on July 7.

All residential garbage, recycling, and bulk waste collection will occur as usual on all regular pickup days during the holiday week. The Glendale Municipal Landfill and Waste Management Customer Service Office will be closed on July 4th for the holiday.

On July 4, only GUS Bus One will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Sunday schedule. GUS 2 and 3 will not operate. There will be no microtransit service on the same day.

ADA service will operate on the Sunday schedule. Those requiring microtransit service for the Fourth of July must make a reservation.

Valley Metro buses and trains will follow the Sunday schedule, with Express and RAPID services not available. Valley Metro Customer Service is closed on the holiday. To plan your trip, visit www.valleymetro.org or contact Customer Service at 602-253-5000.

Glendale Public Libraries will be closed on July 4th and will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on July 5th.

Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open on July 4, however the airport administration office will be closed. The airport terminal will be open during regular business hours.

Private terminal operations are closed during holidays and weekends. However, the lobby and restrooms remain available.

The Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, Glendale Adult Center, Glendale Community Center, O’Neil Recreation Center and Rose Lane Community Center will be closed on July 4 and reopen on July 5.

City of Glendale swimming pools will be closed on July 4, while wading pools will be open from noon to 7 p.m. that day. City pools will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on July 5 and 6, and wading pools will be open from noon to 7 p.m.

City pools will be closed on July 7. Glendale’s wading pools will be closed from noon to 7 p.m. that day.
