When a major transfer takes place in the world of sport, the first thoughts turn to the players involved. After all, they are swapping teams, hometowns, dressing rooms and sometimes even countries. However, transfers not only affect the players involved, but also the lives of their loved ones. Entire families can move as a result of off-season or mid-season transfers, which can be difficult to manage with school-age children, pets and a significant other’s career.

These particular feelings were true in the case of former Pelicans star Larry Nance Jr. That’s because Nance was traded to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. as part of a package deal for Dejounte Murray. For this reason, Nance and his teammate Dyson Daniels will travel to Atlanta before the start of the 2024-25 season.

The deal disrupted his children’s bedtime, according to his wife Hailey, who published a hilarious and all too relatable post on X (formerly known as Twitter) shortly after her husband heard the news.

Even though the Nance patriarch wasn’t exactly on a plane to Atlanta, he had to make several phone calls and leave Hailey alone at bedtime. However, in between his calls, Nance was able to provide some bedtime tips.

When Nance opens the season with the Hawks later this year, it will be his fifth team in 10 seasons played. In 61 games for New Orleans last season, the 31-year-old averaged 5.7 points, 5 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He shot 57% from the field, 41% from three-point land and 77% from the free throw line. He will join a Hawks team that is still debating its next steps. after selecting Zaccharie Risacher as number 1 in this week’s NBA Draft.
