Prince Harry is said to be a lifelong sports enthusiast.

Former NFL player Pat McAfee claimed that Prince Harry’s nomination was inconsistent with the original purpose of the award, which was intended for individuals who have been deeply involved in sports and have served others in a way that reflects Pat Tillman’s legacy as a former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger who was killed in action in Afghanistan.

The former punter and current sports commentator also expressed concerns about the selection process involved in the nomination.

“A lot of conversations about Pat Tillman’s name,” McAfee explained. “American hero… Now there’s an award named after him, as there should be in the sports world, because he’s someone who is the definition of selflessness.”

Then he continued pointedly: “It goes to Prince Harry, who I don’t even think is a prince anymore.”

Prince Harry complained about royal life in “Spare”.

McAfee’s co-host, Boston Connorquickly replied that he thought the nod was “probably the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”

“When you do something like that, you know the immediate reaction from people and sports fans and people with common sense and common sense is going to be, ‘Hey, don’t let our damn guy get together with that guy (Harry),'” McAfee responded.

“I know nothing about him except South Park Episode and what I learned from it The crown” he continued. “But did his people know that you publicly nominated me for this award? You ask practically anybody who considers themselves an American and say, ‘That’s bullshit.'”

The analyst’s team member, Ty Schmittwas openly critical of the ESPYS, dismissing the awards as a “gimmick.” He pointed out that he felt the nomination process ignored many deserving American military personnel, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the way the awards handled recognition within the military community.

The Duke of Sussex is said to “hate hotels”.

“There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of people who could have benefited from this award,” commented Schmitt. “But let’s give it to Prince Harry instead.”

McAfee concluded wryly: “How about ESPYs for members of the royal family who don’t want to be called ‘member of the royal family’ and love sports?”

This follows earlier reports that Meghan Markle had skipped Prince Harry’s Living Legend of Aviation awards ceremony on January 19 as a source said she was caring for one of her sick children. The royal rebel prince accepted his award from actor John Travolta and reportedly did not mention King Charles III and Kate, Princess of Wales’ looming health issues at the time.
