Mahalo to my fellow volunteers from the Mana Loa Nimitz Lions Club who set out early Saturday morning to clean and beautify the Aiea Stream at Halewiliko Place in Aiea.

MLNLC community volunteers, led by Dexter Aoki, collected and bagged leaves, removed weeds and grass along the sidewalks and curbs, trimmed and bagged tree branches, and picked up trash in the area. The MLNLC Community Service Workday Project began at 6:45 a.m. and was completed by 8:15 a.m.

The last few days have been a very humbling, honoring and rewarding experience for me as I was named President of the Rotary Club of Pearlridge for the 2024-2025 season on Friday in a ceremony held in the conference room of the Pearl City Shopping Center, followed by the Mana Loa Nimitz Lions Club’s community service project at Aiea Stream on Saturday morning.

It is an exciting time for Rotarians and Lions of Hawaii to serve both the Aiea and Pearl City communities.

I wish you a nice weekend and a happy 4th of July!
